A Crisis Of Ignorance.

"There is no energy crisis, food crisis, or environmental crisis. There is only a crisis of ignorance."

R. Buckminster Fuller was an architect, systems theorist, author, designer, inventor, philosopher, and futurist. His most famous creation is the geodesic dome, an innovative design that could fully support its own weight with no limitations to size. He is also the man behind the Dymaxion car and the Dymaxion house. He was considered to be a genius, and in fact was the second World President of Mensa International, the society of people with high IQ's.

Despite many difficulties in his early years including alcohol abuse, he ultimately chose to embark on "an experiment, to find what a single individual could contribute to changing the world and benefiting all humanity".

Fuller embraced technology, but unlike today's anti-human technocrats, he sought ways to use technology to improve the human condition, rather than replace us with artificial intelligence. In Fuller's view, there were no problems. There was only a lack of intellectual effort. He hoped for an age of "omni-successful education and sustenance of all humanity".

Here are a few of his most famous quotes, which I've posted in the hope that they will inspire a new generation of compassionate geniuses to step up and change the world.

“I live on Earth at present, and I don’t know what I am. I know that I am not a category. I am not a thing — a noun. I seem to be a verb, an evolutionary process – an integral function of the universe.”

“Pollution is nothing but resources we're not harvesting. We allow them to disperse because we've been ignorant of their value.”

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”

“When I am working on a problem, I never think about beauty.... but when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong.”

“I'm not trying to counsel any of you to do anything really special except dare to think. And to dare to go with the truth. And to dare to really love completely.”

“We are powerfully imprisoned by the terms in which we have been conducted to think.”

“Humanity is an experimental initiative of Universe.”

R. Buckminster Fuller left "Spaceship Earth" in 1983 at the age of 87. But I'm sure his genius lives on in another state of consciousness.
