Every government, despite any good intentions, eventually becomes an inhuman psychopath, devoid of empathy, focused on its own survival, retention of power, and endless expansion.
The people working within it hide behind "authority", doing things within the institution they would never otherwise do.
"It's my job. I have no choice".
