You may not have heard of Blackrock, but their decisions affect your life. This massive and powerful investment firm influences corporations, non-profits, and governments. They often hold controlling positions in companies that appear to compete with each other, profiting no matter which one wins in the marketplace. The company also owns a super-advanced A.I. financial program called "Aladdin" that can make investment decisions faster and more accurately than any human brain.
The company is a leading proponent of "sustainability" and is the driving force behind the so-called "green" agenda. The company's CEO, Larry Fink, pressures companies around the world to conform to his climate change worldview. They play by his rules, or they don't get funded. According to KPMG, "Larry Fink’s Letter to CEOs at the start of 2020 catapulted his firm into the climate change agenda. BlackRock laid out its vision to make sustainability the firm’s new standard for investing. Sustainability would play a stronger role in the active investment processes and environmental, social and governance (ESG) risk would be better accounted for in active strategies."
Blackrock has grown from nothing to becoming the world’s largest manager of other people’s money. The assets left in their care are worth a staggering 10 trillion US dollars. In 2018, Blackrock held $6.3 trillion in assets, which means the company has almost doubled in asset size in only five years.
